Sarva pitru Amavasaya
Today being the last day of pitru paksha, it’s also called as Sarva Pitri Amavasaya.
It’s is said that the doors of spirit world is opened on this day and our loved ones who are in the spirit world come to visit us.
I am sharing a simple ritual for ancestral healing with you all to get the best possible blessings from ancestors and remove any curses or blockages in your life!!
Sit facing south direction. Create an altar table with all your ancestors photos available with you. If you don’t have any pics you can just write their names on a paper and keep.
Offer flowers, inscence, sandalwood paste and light up a diya for them.
Offer them with the food they like or simply the dishes that you make according to your cast, creed or Religion (like in our family we make 5 vegetable sabji, dal chaval and some more dishes as our ancestors liked. But most importantly we keep curd rice and rice kher)
After offering the all the things sit with your legs folded, join your hands and say the following prayer.
Dear Ancestors i may or may not know you, if I have harmed anyone in any way in any of my life, Either knowingly or unknowingly through my own confusions, I ask for your forgiveness.
Please forgive me and hold no bitter feelings for me. Bless me and my family with Wisdom and Good Health.
I also forgive those because of whom I was hurt. Now I have no more bitter feelings for any one.
We all are happy in this world and seek the guidance of the higher souls and spirits to enhance our spiritual growth.
We hope you like our offerings and you happily return to the spirit world with contentment.
Again I would like to say I m sorry please forgive me, I love you, Thank you.
After saying this prayer you can chant
“SRINIVASHA ARVINDALOCHANA”– this removed all blockages, curses, and many more.
At night keep a white candle or a diya at your window still (safety first) to show light to the soul to help them to return in spiritual world.
